Area Engineers

The Area Engineers are the front face of Council throughout the District. They are responsible for, and carry out liason, management, programming, supervision and co-ordination of roading, utilities and amenity functions within each Ward. This typically includes all infrastructural assets including public toilets, footpaths, kerb and channelling, stormwater, reserves, playgrounds and cemeteries.

The engineers also administer stock crossings and accessways in each ward and provide conditions for consents (for example building consents, dairy conversions etc).

They are the eyes and ears of Council within the District and work closely with all Community Boards and CDA sub-committees.

The map below shows which Area Engineer is responsible for what area.
