Te Anau

Te Anau is on the eastern boundary of the Fiordland National Park and is a popular tourist centre.

It is central to several attractions, including Milford Sound and the Te Ana-au Glowworm Caves.

From the town, keen hikers can head off on the Kepler and Milford Tracks.

The town is on the south-eastern shores of Lake Te Anau, the largest lake in the South Island and second in New Zealand after Lake Taupo.
